I just ran 10.9 miles.

Today I had set out to run 8 miles. This would be by far the most I have ever run. The farthest I had ran before today was 6.7 miles. So I went running & I came back to log my mileage on mapmyrun and turns out I actually ran 10.95 miles. I was too shocked, I had no intention on running that far as it is not good to increase your mileage by more than 10% each week. So now I am confident that I can actually finish a half-marathon for the first time.

Every time someone’s ask me why did you run the 10K, or why are you training for a half-marathon? Honestly, it’s a good question. At first I didn’t know why, but I’ve thought about it & with recent events in my life, I know why. I ponder about this as I am suppose to run 8 miles tomorrow (the farthest I have ever ran/jog in my entire life).

Chicago Women’s Half-marathon?

Still have not fully committed to running this race even though I am still training for it. This would be my official first half-marathon. Not sure if I can, but as the quote goes: “Whether you think you can, or can’t, you’re right”. So we’ll see.
